BUCKS FREE PRESS, LOUDWATER Loudwater is the location of this new head office for a local newspaper. The building contains a distribution centre in addition to storage areas and office accommodation. This flagship building has contributed to the regeneration of a former industrial estate including opening up parts of the River Wye which runs through the site and close to the new building. Brocklehurst Architects acted for Michael Shanly Investments during the design phase and Ashe for the Design Build contract. Brocklehurst Architects also acted for the Bucks Free Press in connection with the office fit out. |

UPPER WITTINGTON, NEAR MARLOW New 10,000sq.m headquarters building for computer software company SAS Institute. Main office accommodation is contained within two 2-storey wings linked to a central hub containing main reception, meeting rooms, restaurant and kitchen facilities. This low-energy development will incorporate environmental control systems such as solar shading, grey water re-cycling and cross- and stack-ventilation. Work started on site in February 2001 and completed in September 2002. |

HELLIDON LAKES
HOTEL, HELLIDON Alterations to
this existing 4-star hotel included increasing the conference and leisure
facilities and adding an additional 40 bedrooms. Planning Approval
was obtained in April 2001. Work started on site in May 2001 and was
completed within 12 months. All construction work had to be
undertaken while the hotel was still in operation. |

SPITTAL STREET, MARLOW The project involved the refurbishment of an existing Grade II listed retail units together with a new 2 storey restaurant, office building and two bedroom apartment. The new brick clad, steel frame building element includes aluminium curtain walling and a projecting curved roof, which are used to express the entrance to the offices. |
