Octagon Parade opens for business

The new 120 bedroom Travelodge hotel opened for business on schedule in November 2011.  The new hotel; which replaced part of an existing redundant 1970’s commercial building; was constructed in just 9 months using lightweight steel framing above a concrete podium level of ground floor retail space.  The building achieves very high thermal and acoustic performance in the town centre location.

Brocklehurst Architects were novated to work for McLaren Construction  post-planning, as part of a design and build procurement process.
